Welcome to the New York City Department of Education's online application.
The first step in filling out your online application for Speech or Pupil Personnel Service positions is to create an account by clicking on the "Register Now!" button and supplying the requested information. During the registration step, you will define your username (your email address) and password. Your email address will also be the primary means for contacting you so please check your inbox regularly, and check your junk mail or spam filter to make sure you are receiving emails from the NYC Department of Education (allow domains "@schools.nyc.gov" and "@nyc.teacherssupportnetwork.com").
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU HAVE REGISTERED OR COMPLETED AN APPLICATION BEFORE JANUARY 2013, YOU MUST RE-REGISTER AND SUBMIT A NEW APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED FOR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE 2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR UNLESS YOU RECEIVED AN EMAIL WITH OTHER INSTRUCTIONS.
APPLICATION OVERVIEW
  • You will be requested to provide details about: your education, certification, work experience, professional references, work location preferences, and other background information.
  • You will also be required to post your resume. It will facilitate the application process if you have this information readily available.
  • The mandatory fields are labeled with an asterisk (*) and must be provided.
  • You will see this icon Question Mark throughout the application. Click on it to see helpful information about specific fields on the application.
  • The on-line application has been organized into 8 Steps. You do not have to complete the application in one sitting. You may stop and return later to complete your application by clicking on "SAVE AND EXIT," once a section has been completed. The system will not record any information you entered during a session, unless either the "SAVE AND EXIT" or "SAVE AND CONTINUE" icon is clicked.
  • You may preview and/or print the entire application prior to, during or after completion of the information entry process, by clicking on the PREVIEW icon.
  • Candidates who have already registered and wish to complete or edit their application may simply log in and click on your existing application.
  • When you have provided all the required information and are ready to submit your application, click on the "COMPLETE" icon. It is important that you double-check all information and ensure that your application is current, accurate and complete before you click on the "COMPLETE" icon. Some sections may not be edited after your completed application has been submitted for review.
If you have incorrectly started a classroom teacher application for 2013, you will need to contact the Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality (TRQ) and have your application deleted before you begin a PPS or Speech application. Vice versa, if you have an active PPS application and would like to apply for a classroom teaching position, please email PPS@schools.nyc.gov to delete your application. Duplicate applications are not allowed.
