Director of Literacy, District 75, LIV-EA63
Position Summary: The Director of Literacy is an integral part of the District Team for Curriculum and Instruction. The Literacy Director will work directly with schools to impact student achievement in grades Pre-K through 12. The Literacy Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of literacy and social studies instruction and programs; oversees all related professional and curriculum development activities; monitors and supports schools’ programming and delivery of mandated services and ensures that instructional initiatives to support literacy and social studies are aligned with the philosophy of the New York City Public Schools (NYCPS). Performs related work.
Reports to: D75 Citywide Liaison
Direct Reports: District 75 Literacy Coaches
Key Relationships: Works under the supervision of the Citywide Liaison. Supervises the District 75 Literacy instructional coaches and works with the D75 leadership team to service school administrators and their teaching staff to effectively implement data informed literacy instructional policies and programs for District 75’s students. Works collaboratively with district, NYCPS Central and divisional colleagues to coordinate cross functional and differentiated instructional, operational and compliance related supports to schools.

Minimum
Applicants must possess a valid New York State certificate in School Administration/Supervision (SAS), School District Administrator (SDA), School Building Leadership (SBL), or the Administrator Certificate. We do not accept internship certificates.

Preferred
Salary: $154,038 - $181,604
